His favorite toy right now is a jet plane. There's Good Jet, Red Jet, and now Super Jet, compliments of Nana. And Plane, the Air Force bomber, from neighbor Wyatt. When he gets upset or doesn't get his way, he whines "my red jet" through the sobs. The ultimate comfort. He has found a love of swinging at school, as long as he goes "higher" and does 3-2-1 Blast off! Yesterday Jay told him he had a bird's nest in his hair. "Bird in my hair??? Bird nest my hair???" he replied. Tonight all four of us had birds in our hair.
Jake is walking ALL. THE. TIME. He loves it. He never stops. It compliments his ADD tendencies rather well. :) He is starting to say mama, more (along with hand sign), and possibly Nana. He has a pleasant little "aahhe" sound for Cas that seems consistent. For a while now he's done an "rrrr" sound when holding a car. If I can keep him in my lap long enough to read a book, he decisively points and talks to the pictures. He turns the pages backward. He is most definitely left handed. He gets mad when Cas takes something from him. He always wants to eat what is on my plate, even if he has all the same foods on his. He opens his hands up for the sign, 'all done.' He loves jumping and crawling over me and Cas and pillows (his version of wrestling). His red hair is fading. :(
He loves his riding/singing toy and can climb on it, over it, stand on top of it... he is such a climber! He would pull himself over into my big garden tub if I let him. He knows to crawl through Cas' straddled legs when approached. He loves it when I sing to him - he does a little back-and-forth jig with his head. Every morning he holds my neck when I pick him up and waits for me to sing Brother John, over and over, while I change his diaper. A couple of days he didn't see me first thing in the morning, but as soon as he did a few hours later, he grabbed my neck and wanted to hear the song. The best feeling ever!!!
